The Writing Inclusivity and Equity Project (WIEP) is a multi-campus higher education research project with three main goals:
- Learn the extent to which first-year writing curricula at California colleges and universities incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion into their course content, course policies, curriculum design, and grading methods
- Examine the impact of factors like institution type and mission, faculty training and background, program and institutional policies on inclusion in FYW courses
- Include institutions representing the broad variety of higher ed institutions in California: public and private 4-year schools, 2-year and community colleges
Our current focus is syllabus analysis using qualitative research methods (via human and machine coding).
